The Final Launch Of The Space Shuttle Discovery
Last week I acheived one of the goals I have set for my life. To watch a Space Shuttle launch. It did not dissappoint. There is something about being in the presence of a moment like this that cannot be captured by pictures or on television. It was the most awesome display of power and technology I have ever witnessed. I feel so blessed to have been able to witness this historic event. This will be the last launch of the Discovery. The shuttle, which NASA call a Space Orbitor, was the third shuttle to join the fleet. It arrived in Florida in November 1983. The same year I was married. The Discovery was first launched on August 30, 1984. Since then it has completed 38 missions. The Discovery was also the next shuttle to launch after both the Challenger and Columbia disasters.

We are standing in front of Kennedy Space Center. If you ever get a chance to visit, you should. It was very interesting.
Here was the only descent picture I could get of the launch. I am such an amatuer. My camera was always focused behind the launch. That shuttle really moves fast! Like I said, it's one of those events that you have to witness to grasp the magnatude of it. However, as awe-inspiring as this was, it still can't compare to this...
And it happens every morning! Our God is an awesome God!
