California Dreaming

This was my first big trip to California.  I have never been that far out west before and when my husband had to travel on a business trip to Napa Valley I jumped on aboard before he could say no.  We had a marvelous time and even managed to turn it into sort of a mini vacation for just the two of us.  The only problem was how to get there.  I am a flying phobic.  Not just the I'm uncomfortable to fly kind, I am REALLY a phobic.  I come by it honestly though, I have never been on a flight that did not have some kind of problem.  Anyway, as we began our flight I studied all the emergency proceedures and located all the emergency exits.  Ironically, our seat was by one of the exits and before we took off the flight attendant asked if we were able to assist others in case of emergency.  Sure, I thought, they can all follow me out the window!  We were not in the air 20 minutes when I looked over at my husband.

Are you serious!  How can a person fall asleep that fast, I couldn't fall asleep that fast if I was in the most comfortable bed listening to angelic lullabies.  I meanwhile, was not quite that peaceful.

I pretty much stayed in this position until we landed.  It's not as uncomfortable as it looks.  We did land safetly and proceeded to have an amazing trip.  We even found some incredible places we didn't even know existed.

Up next:  Our visit to San Fransisco, California
